Oltre a Benevento, sono tanti i centri di interesse: tutti i paesi del Sannio, grandi e piccoli, meritano di essere esplorati per le bellezze artistiche e paesaggistiche. Infatti questa area è ricchissima di memorie dei popoli che l’hanno abitata: Greci e Sanniti, Romani, Longobardi.

Il valore storico e le ricchezze naturali fanno della visita a questa terra un’esperienza unica. E unico è anche il gusto della straordinaria cucina locale, consacrata da itinerari enogastronomici che rivelano l’appassionato legame con la tradizione.

Feste e sagre animano quest’area per tutto l’anno, in paesi come Solopaca, dove agli inizi di settembre si svolge la festa dell’uva, Guardia Sanframondi dove dal 4 al 10 agosto di ogni anno si tiene la Rassegna Enogastronomia Vinalia, San Marco dei Cavoti patria del torrone croccantino, Cusano Mutri dove tra la fine di settembre e gli inizi di ottobre si svolge la Sagra dei Funghi e tanti altri.

The area’s countryside is outstanding and impacting, offering visitors the opportunity of exploring the rugged Apennine massifs, quaint and timeless towns and villages, hills dotted with vineyards and olive groves and lush green valleys.

Besides the provincial capital city of Benevento which is well worthwhile visiting, there are many towns and villages of unusual interest dotted all over the Sannio area which deserve to be explored for their artistic and unspoilt beauty. In fact, this area is richly entrenched with memories of the people who have inhabited this area since the annals of time: the ancient Greeks and Samnites peoples, the Romans and the Lombards.

The area’s historical heritage, together with its abundant natural resources, make a visit to this magical and enchanting land a truly unique travel experience. Furthermore, the exceptional and distinctive taste of the fresh local cuisine, are paid homage to with a variety of food and wine tours and festivals which are held all over the area and which showcase the passionate bond between the local people and their and time-honoured traditions.

Feasts and festivals enliven the area throughout the year, in towns such as Solopaca, which flanks the soft slopes of a sleepy mountain, where at the beginning of September a grape festival takes place. Guardia Sanframondi where from 4 to 10 August of each year it hosts a lively eno-gastronomic food fair called “Vinalia” offering locally sourced food and wines to be sampled in a setting of a beauty medieval town. The elevated and picturesque town of San Marco Cavoti which is the home of a famous and delicious local sweet, a sort of nougat brittle called “Torrone Croccantino”, and the mountain town of Cusano Mutri where from late September to early October every year it hosts the Mushroom Festival highlighting the precious Funghi Porcini.
